New Orleans Recreation Department campers were taking their swings Monday morning at pitches from Zephyrs batting coach Jack Voigt as players Chris Aguila and Jesus Feliciano talked with kids waiting behind the cage for their turn.

Game keys: Pinch-hitter Chris Aguila drove home pinch-runner Anderson Machado from first with a double with two outs in the 10th inning to give the Zephyrs their third consecutive victory. . . . Gustavo Molina led off the inning against reliever Brandon Villafuerte (4-3) with a pop-up that second baseman Chase Lambin apparently lost in the sun. The ball fell on the infield dirt for a single. Machado replaced Molina. . . . The Zephyrs tied the score on a two-run single in the ninth by Valentino Pascucci. Jesus Feliciano and Andy Green singled off Marcus Gwynn to open the inning, and John Rodriguez sacrificed to set up the opportunity for Pascucci.

Game keys: Anderson Machado, Chris Aguila and Valentino Pascucci hit solo home runs in the first inning to put New Orleans in charge, and Brandon Knight equaled the Zephyrs' record for strikeouts in pitching six scoreless innings for the victory. . . . Knight (5-1), in his final start at home before he joins the U.S. Olympic team, struck out 12, two in each inning. He allowed three hits and walked three. . . . Machado led off the game with a homer to left off starter Chris Sedden (7-7). With one out, Aguila and Pascucci hit consecutive homers. . . . The Zephyrs knocked out Sedden in the third. He walked Aguila and Pascucci with one out. With Aguila breaking for third, Sedden threw the ball to the backstop, and Aguila and Pascucci advanced, credited with stolen bases. Michel Abreu then lined a two-run single to right center. . . . Albuquerque scored in the eighth against Willie Collazo. Tommy Murphy doubled with two out and scored on an RBI-single by Tagg Bozied.

Zephyrs relief pitcher Nate Field and Manager Marty Scott laugh about what happened eight years ago, when Field was trying to win a spot in the bullpen of the St. Paul Saints, managed by Scott, in the independent Northern League.

Game keys: Albuquerque center fielder Lorenzo Scott drove in three runs, threw out a runner at the plate, stole three bases and scored a run. . . . Frankie De La Cruz (10-5) allowed one run in six innings to earn the victory. . . . The Isotopes scored two runs in the second off Zephyrs starter Claudio Vargas (3-2). Dallas McPherson led off with a walk, reached third on a double by Tagg Bozied off the glove of center fielder Jesus Feliciano near the wall in left-center and scored on a single by Chris Lambin. Scott then drove home Bozied with a sacrifice fly to right. . . . Albuquerque made the score 5-0 in the seventh on a bloop RBI single by Bozied and a two-run single by Scott. . . . In the fourth inning, Scott made a strong throw to retire John Rodriguez, who tried to score from second on Chris Aquila's single. . . . Aguila hit a homer to center with two out in the sixth to make the score 5-1, but John Gall answered in the sixth for Albuquerque with a leadoff homer to left off reliever Tim McNab. . . . After being hit by a pitch in the eighth, Scott stole second and third and scored on a groundout.

Pitcher Brandon Knight, who'll be wearing the Zephyrs' uniform tonight when he starts against Albuquerque at Zephyr Field, received another uniform before the game Friday night.

Game keys: Three New Orleans pitchers combined to throw a seven-inning, one-hitter against Nashville to win the first game of a doubleheader. The second game was not available at press time. The teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday night, but heavy rain stopped play during the seventh-inning stretch of the first game. . . . Willie Collazo started and tossed threee perfect innings and struck out two. Jose Santiago allowed one hit and one walk in the next three innings to earn the victory. Nate Field struck out two and retired the side in order in the seventh inning for his seventh save. . . . Michel Abreu accounted for all three runs, scoring two and driving in the third. Abreu and Jesus Feliciano each had two hits.

LSU's Stavinoha a big hit for Redbirds
Former LSU player Nick Stavinoha, who played for the Memphis Redbirds last week at Zephyr Field, showed New Orleans fans what he has been doing all season -- hitting the ball hard.

ZEPHYRS 7 vs. SOUNDS 0
Game keys: Brian Stokes pitched six shutout innings to lead New Orleans. The scheduled doubleheader was interrupted by heavy rain and lightning. New Orleans scored in the third inning when Stokes singled, advanced to second on a wild pitch, went to third base on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a sacrifice fly by Andy Green. New Orleans got back-to-back doubles in the fourth inning by Michel Abreu and Valentino Pascucci to score the second run. The Z's scored five runs in the seventh inning off six walks. The game was halted during the seventh-inning stretch when a power outage knocked out the stadium lights. Heavy rain continued to fall, and the game was declared an official game.

SOUNDS 5 vs. ZEPHYRS 4
Game keys: Nashville catcher Carlos Corporan hit a line drive, game-winning home run to center in the ninth inning Friday night. The Sounds overcame a three-run deficit, and reliever Joe Bateman worked 3 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out seven to earn the win. Bateman earned his first career Triple-A win. Corporan's homer -- his first of the season -- capped a three-hit game for him. He entered the game with three hits in 22 at-bats.

Game keys: Andy Green and Valentino Pascucci hit two-run homers in the fifth inning to put the Zephyrs in charge, and they held on to earn a split of the four-game series. . . . With the Zephyrs trailing 2-1, Jesus Feliciano led off the fifth with a single against Memphis starter Mike Parisi (6-2). Green put New Orleans in front with a home run to left. After John Rodriguez reached on an error by shortstop Brian Barden, Pascucci hit a home run to center to extend the lead to 5-2. . . . Brandon Knight (4-1) pitched seven innings, allowing six hits and two runs, for the victory. He struck out seven and walked two. . . . Nate Field pitched the ninth for his sixth save this season. . . . The Redbirds had rallied against reliever Juan Padilla to make the score 5-4 in the eighth. Barden led off with a single, and Jarrett Hoffpauir doubled. Nick Stavinoha then hit a sacrifice fly to center, and Hoffpauir advanced to third. He scored when Josh Phelps grounded out to shortstop.
