NATCHITOCHES -- Country Day Athletic Director Mike McGuire was about to announce to his students Tuesday that the boys cross country team had won the Class 1A state championship when he received words he never wanted to hear from the Louisiana High School Athletic Association.

NATCHITOCHES -- Country Day senior Trey Lowenthal, Coach Brendan Minihan and the rest of the Cajuns boys cross country team huddled up in the infield inside the track at Northwestern State University and hoped for the best as the final team scores were announced for the Class 1A state meet Monday.
