Hitmaker Bryan Adams has scored dozens of hits in the past 25 years, starting with "Cuts Like a Knife"; he'll perform many of them acoustically during a solo show at the House of Blues. It's Swing Night with Johnny Angel at the Mid-City Lanes.

George Quezergue, who assisted his father Wardell Querergue in arranging scores of hit rhythm & blues singles, died July 14 in Antioch, Tenn. He was 56.
Mr. Quezergue also performed with the 1970s funk band The Unemployed and contributed backing vocals and percussion to recordings at the Malaco Records studio in Jackson, Miss. He played tambourine on Jean Knight's "Mr. Big Stuff" and King Floyd's "Groove Me," two of the biggest singles to come out of that studio. He also helped organize voluminous charts and documentation for his father's arrangements.
Mr. Quezergue lived in New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina forced him to relocate to Tennessee.
Survivors include his sons George Jr. and Jernell Sr.; his parents, Wardell Quezergue Sr. and Yoshi T. Quezergue; eight sisters; and five brothers. His funeral was July 22 in Tennessee.

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) -- Kid Rock has been sentenced to a year's probation and fined $1,000 for his role in a fight at a suburban Atlanta Waffle House last fall.
The DeKalb County solicitor's office said the 37-year-old was also sentenced Monday to six hours of anger management counseling and 80 hours of community service.

Monday - Schloss (Palace) Charlottenburg
Our first full day off in almost 3 weeks - whew! Everyone take a deep breath, then set about your day.
First, I have to go visit Claudia in the business office about payday, and working out the tax issues, both withholding and reporting. More of that "suit" part of the job that I hate, but if you don't watch out for yourself, who does?
Back to the hotel, pick up Maw Maw and Rick and find a taxi to take us to the Schloss (Palace) Charlottenburg, sort of the country palace of the Prussian/ German kings. Huge, imposing, and pretty much completely rebuilt since WWII. Another reminder of just how thoroughly destroyed this city was.

Homegrown kids' music quartet the Imagination Movers finish shooting the first season of their Disney Channel TV series this week. On Monday afternoon at the UNO Foundation's Robert E. Nims Center for Entertainment Arts in Elmwood, the cumulative effects of three months of 12 hour days were apparent.
The Imagination Movers are, clockwise from upper left, Scott Durbin, Scott "Smitty" Smith, Rich Collins and Dave Poche.Between takes, "Mover Dave" Poche gobbles vitamins to ward off the first signs of illness. A groggy "Mover Rich" Collins munches on a peach as he shakes off his lack of sleep.
But their fatigue disappears the instant cameras roll on the 26th and final episode, "The Treasure of the Warehouse."
A Little "Turistical" Fun
by Yvette Voelker

MawMaw and Rick are ready to see some of Berlin, and so am I. At Hannes' suggestion, we go with Holley over to Kurfurstandamm and take a city tour bus line. He has suggested a particular one that has live commentary in German and English. For 15 Euro, you can get on and off the buses at several stops, and the tour guides give a nice, if brief overview of what we pass.

Lead singer and guitarist, Blake Mogabgab, couldn't be more excited to return home for their show tonight at The Frat House Uptown.
"It feels great to finally be here," he said. "To be involved in the music scene here is really a dream come true. It's cheesy, but that's the truth."
